The economical entry model for SHDSL measurements since the user can select just the functions he needs.
The SHDSL (Symmetric High-bit-rate Digital Subscriber Line) tester, the ARGUS 28, provides support for network operators especially in performing the installation and setup of SHDSL systems. In this case, the tester simulates both the network and the customer side of the SHDSL connection. The ARGUS 28 is available in various version: ranging from a purely SHDSL tester all the way to a universal tester, which supports every measurement routine needed for SHDSL, E1, X.21, PRI, BRI and POTS interfaces. Even the customer's terminal equipment can be included in the measurement process by simply connecting it to the output on the tester, which then serves as a SHDSL modem.
As an option, support for the BRI, PRI, POTS and X.21 interfaces can be retrofitted. Furthermore, with the aid of an adapter, it is also possible to test a U-interface.
An overview of the ARGUS28’s standard features:
o SHDSL modem simulation (STU-C and STU-R)
Expansion level 1:
o ISDN PRI and BRI interfaces in TE/NT mode + D-channel passive monitoring
o U-interface - optional
o 16 MB internal memory for D-channel data
o BERT and permanent circuit test (with or without the D-channel(s) on a BRI or PRI access)
o Support for private protocols
o Transfer of data to a PC
o Flash-ROM technology for software updates via a PC (WINplus)
Expansion level 2:
o E1 bit error test on all timeslots (framed / unframed)
Optional:
o V5.1/V5.2 monitor (on up to 3 timeslots / multiple links)
o POTS interface with CLIP + POTS monitor with CLIP and DTMF display
